How To Send Toys
Prepare the toy
Before sending any toy:
- Make sure that it is packaged safely to maximize its chance of arriving at its destination in one piece.
- Start by gathering some bubble wrap or similar cushioning material and packing up the toy, being careful not to damage any parts which are already fragile or easily broken.
- Use enough material so the toy cannot move around in the box.
Batteries
Many toys now contain batteries, and it is essential to remove these before sending the toy. If a battery leaks, it can cause serious damage to the toy and anything else inside the package. If you are unsure how to remove the battery, consult the toy’s instruction manual.
Gift Wrapping
Some people prefer how their toys arrive and will require the toy to be wrapped before sending it. In this case, add another layer of bubble wrap or other cushioning material to prevent any harm from being done while the gift is being transported. Once the toy is wrapped, seal it with some good-quality tape.
Box the toy up
Now it’s time to put all of the packages together. Choose an appropriately-sized box and ensure that the toy fits snugly inside without moving around too much. If there is any excess space, fill it with more cushioning material until the toy is secure. Once you are content that the toy is wrapped, placed, and sealed properly inside the box, close the lid and stick some clear tape around it so it can’t open accidentally.
Labeling
Finally, add a shipping label with your address on it to ensure that when it arrives at its destination, whoever picks up the package knows where it came from. You can also write who it is meant for on the label if you are sending it as a gift.
